Oh gawd, my insomnia is coming back again!! I drank so much sangria on sunday night in SGP house that I couldn’t goto sleep, which surprises me cos I thought I would sleep like a baby! Maybe the alcohol mixed with laughing boisterously with some gym-kakis are too potent to let me drift to sleep. I complained about it to Choobacca the next day as he was the one who had concocted the sangrias...hmmmmphhh...This is an absolute torture! My colleagues are wondering what I do every night as I have been turning up to work every morning looking like what the cat dragged in!!! Duhhhh…..Hmmm, just can’t seem to figure out what I am not doing right…I drank some punch and exercised like nobody’s business and I had my dinner early, by right I am so lethargic that I would ‘dropped dead’ on the bed, right!
In a desperate attempt to rectify this problem, I finally decided to skip gym for the night to see a masseuse. I stumbled upon a newly opened massage place at TC on the weekend but since I just ate before that, I couldn’t have a massage. It’s the same principle with exercising…no food at least 2 hours before class. Well, apparently they have some ‘promotional’ opening offers so I’m gamed to try it out. It was a Thai mixed with traditional aromatherapy massage. I don’t really fancy Thai massages, which is concentrated more on pressure points. I had a Thai massage few years back when I was in Pattaya…it was dirt cheap….RM45 for 2 hours!!! But, I didn’t really enjoyed it…it started off alright and just when I was about to doze off, the masseuse yanked me off the floor with her legs pushed against my back!! As I was ‘semi-conscious’, I gave a big yowl. Oh man, I nearly pee in my pants in fright!! After this episode, I shudder at the thought of another Thai massage so I clarify with the front desk that no yanking will be done this time round…
So off I went to my ‘chambers’…where the Thai masseuse starts off with a foot soak for me…ahhh, feels great…somebody to wash my feet…brings to mind the ‘olden days’ where maids wash their owner’s feet…”evil laugh” After that she started the massage. See, the thing is I usually doze off during massages and facials. So I reckon, especially during facials, they could have just washed my face, wait for me to drift off then sit down beside me reading a novel for all I know! Anyways, this time round, I didn’t doze off but was relaxed. It’s good to get a massage once in awhile to get some relief from stress and to just unwind. Uhmmm….felt fantastic!!! After the massage, they gave me a cup of tea, not sure what tea it is but sure tastes like ginger. I usually get green tea but I guess different establishment different approach. As I paid for my massage, I chatted with the owner. Apparently, they just opened for a month, same time as another massage place upstairs. I visited the other one also the other day to check out the rates cos it says 2nd person 50% off. The lady boss told me that they have an in-house doctor (?) who concocts their own aromatherapy oils and she demonstrated by rubbing some of the oil on my hands while pitching her sales talk…the oils weren’t that ‘oily’ and doesn’t stink…well, you know, some aromatherapy oils kinda stink. I went for a massage once during lunch hour and when I got back, my colleagues asked me why I stinks after I went for the massage….eyes rolling…and I gotta stick with the smell till I got home…can you imagine!
